Student Work: Value Drawing/Reflective Surface
Value drawing from ART 2301: Beginning Drawing. Over the course of the semester, students are challenged to draw entirely from life, emphasizing the link between the artist’s eye and hand as being integral to drawing ability. For one major assignment, each student is required to draw a still life consisting of at least one object with a reflective surface while relying on additive and subtractive values to render the volumes of the composition. This charcoal drawing was created by Maria Cuahutle.
